Smelldum is a big fan of Griff Oberwald. So much that over time he has begun to think that he IS Griff. He moves like Griff and behaves like his number one hero. He even dresses like the human star player. No one has ever had the heart to tell the hobgoblin how pathetic he really is. The coach describes the situation like this: 'I don't care if he thinks he's freakin' Morg - as long as he does what I tell him to do! If he doesn't I'll wring his scrawny neck like the rest'.
