Match notes
The weather was fine as the two teams met for their sixth round match. The Olvig Vikings won the coin toss and decided to give the ball to the Bunnies in the hope of inflicting some casualties on the way. But that plan did not work out as Vikings failed to make just one casualty in the first half.

Bunnies received the ball and started their drive down one sideline by pushing a player out of the way and sending the three receivers through. Vikings failed to stop them, and quarterbunny Synne Buch had no problems in completing to Mette Vons who scored the first touchdown of the match. 0-1.

With three Bunny players on the line of scrimmage Vikings had no real problems in driving the ball down field to an easy touchdown for Ulf ”Grimfod” Haraldson, the bezerker. 1-1.

The Bunnies then went for the same procedure as last time with virtually the same result – the only difference being the fact that this time Ane Uråd was the one to score. 1-2.

With three turns left the Bunnies then made the choice to try to stop the Viking offence. This they did with staggering result. Vikings decided to use an early re-roll on a block to knock down a linebunny on the line of scrimmage. That was succesful, but when minotaur Bjørn Torsketrækker then decided to throw a block on an unsuspecting linebunny he got the double-sculls and fell to the ground. The Bunnies then moved their defensive line close to the Vikings and let Ane Uråd run solo up field to try to cut the only eligible Viking player off from the ball. In the next turn she was blitzed to the ground. However, the Vikings did not get hold of the ball and in her next turn, Ane Uråd jumped to her feet and managed to pick up the ball and dodge thrice into the endzone all the time being in one tacke-zone. 1-3.

The next half started with a one-turn riot. The Vikings then received the ball confronted with only 3 Bunny players. What looked to be a run-of-the-mill touchdown drive turned into a nightmare for the Viking coach and for catcher Herluf Regnersøn who failed to catch the ball in two consecutive turns – both on a double 1. Finally it was thrower Finn Buesøn who had to come all the way from behind the Viking offensive line to score the touchdown. 2-3.

In the process of the former drive linebunny Lis Pund had been killed. With her retirement due anyway in 1 or 2 matches, the callous Bunny team coach decided to let her rest in peace saving his apothecary for worse cases. This proved to be a wise decision. He was also very unsure of whether to play defensive or offensive on the next drive. A right decision was necessary in order to secure the win. He had so much confidence in his offensive line that he chose the latter. In the end it proved to be the right decision, but it took some moments of fear before victory was secured.

In the Bunny drive the Bunnies manage to make the usual hole in the Viking defensive line. The receivers sprouted through and line up to catch the ball. In a critical moment the Viking coach puts pressure on ball carrier Synne Buch but totally forgets to cover receiver Mette Vons who is in scoring distance. Synne Buch dodges free and sends a perfectly accurate pass to Mette Vons who, to the utter disbelief of the Bunny head coach, fails to catch the ball on a double one.

The Viking players then fell over the Bunnies, and bezerker Regnar Knudsson gave Bunny star receiver Ane Uråd a niggling injury. That was, however, quickly overruled by the Bunny apothecary who stepped up with a perfect effort. As if that was not enough the hitherto most anonymous and rather useless minotaur Bjørn Torsketrækker decides that he wants to get into the action. This he does by killing backup quarterbunny Lykke Pille. That was the minotaur’s first gain of star player points in over one and a half season, and finally he gets his first skill roll.

Further up pitch catcher Herluf Regnersøn moved in to pick up the ball. Being in one teammate’s tacklezone and with another one blocking the way of the harder hitting Bunny players he felt more comfortable there than by throwing the ball. In the next turn Mette Vons decided that it was time to make amends, and this she did by stretching the ball carrier to the ground with the assistance of Linebunny Ru Tine who had blitzed her way to Regnar Knudsson’s tacklezone.

Ane Uråd who almost still had the team apothecary bending over her got to her feet and dodged to the endzone. Synne Buch then felt that she had a target who might actually treat her pass as it deserved. She grabbed the ball and threw the long pass right into Ane Uråds hands as she was waiting in the endzone. 2-4.

The Vikings’ last turn was upheld by yet another riot.

Apparently both sides of the crowd were pleased as both team’s fan factors rose. The Bunnies got a sponsorship deal and won a staggering 120.000 gold pieces.
